We are very fortunate & gracious to have been contacted by the granddaughter of Fallschirmjäger veteran, Felix Schönnfeld. felix was a member of the 16 Kompanie and participated in the fighting during the Allied Market Garden Operation. Fortunate to have survived, Felix was taken prisoner by Scotish troops and taken to a P.O.W. camp.
Felix is still alive today and is very excited to be in contact with our unit. His grandaughter will be making a trip to the US next year and will attend the Crete event as an official photgrapher. She will be using period cameras along with digital to capture & record this event
It is still no confirmed but Felix very much wishes to attend , we will keep you posted on his possible attendence.

The Fu. D.2 Field radio was the standard Kompanie level radio for the Wehrmacht. It was fairly light, small and reliable
